About the Chip & Toner Level Display
Each cartridge includes an integrated chip — no chip transfer from your old OEM cartridge is needed.
Canon Color imageCLASS printers may display a toner level warning or "non-Canon cartridge" message after installing compatible cartridges. This is a standard notification caused by the chip communication protocol — the cartridge is full and will print normally. Follow the on-screen prompt to continue, typically by pressing OK or selecting the option to proceed with the non-OEM cartridge. Print quality and yield are not affected.
How to Install Canon 067 Toner Cartridges
- Open the front cover of your Canon Color imageCLASS printer
- Pull the toner carousel out to access the cartridge slots
- Press the release tab on the old cartridge and pull it straight out
- Remove the new cartridge from its packaging and shake it gently 5–6 times side to side to evenly distribute the toner
- Remove the orange protective seal completely
- Insert the cartridge into its color-coded slot and push firmly until it clicks
- Repeat for each color cartridge
- Return the carousel, close the front cover, and power on
- Dismiss any non-OEM toner alert by pressing OK or Continue
Do not touch the drum or chip contacts. Fingerprints can cause print defects or recognition errors.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this pack include all four colors? Yes. This 4-pack contains one each of 067 black (5102C001), cyan (5103C001), magenta (5104C001), and yellow (5105C001).
What is the difference between Canon 067 and 067H? The 067 is the standard-yield version (~1,350 pages black, ~1,250 pages color). The 067H is the high-yield version (~3,130 pages black, ~2,350 pages color). Both fit the same printers. The 067H delivers a lower cost per page for frequent printing.
Do I need to transfer the chip from my old cartridge? No. Each cartridge already includes its own integrated chip. Simply install and print.
My printer shows a toner level warning right after installation. Is that normal? Yes — this is a known behavior with compatible toner cartridges on Canon Color imageCLASS printers. The cartridge is full. Dismiss the alert and continue printing. Monitor print quality directly rather than relying on the on-screen indicator.
How long can I store an unused cartridge? Unopened cartridges stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight typically remain usable for 2–3 years. Once opened, install within 12 months for optimal print quality.
Will using a compatible toner cartridge void my Canon printer warranty? No. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, Canon cannot void your printer warranty solely because you used a compatible toner cartridge.
