This 2-pack contains the XL high-yield versions (PGI-275XL and CLI-276XL). Both the standard and XL versions fit the same Canon Pixma printers — the XL simply holds more ink and prints more pages before needing replacement.
How to Install Canon PGI-275XL and CLI-276XL
- Turn on your Canon Pixma printer
- Open the front cover and wait for the print carriage to move to the center
- Press down on the old cartridge to release it and pull it straight out
- Remove the new cartridge from packaging and peel off the orange protective tape completely — do not touch the ink nozzles or gold contact strip
- Insert the black cartridge (PGI-275XL) into the left slot and the tri-color (CLI-276XL) into the right slot
- Press each cartridge firmly until it clicks into place
- Close the front cover — the printer will align automatically
Common mistake: Forgetting to remove the orange tape entirely. If your printer shows a cartridge error immediately after installation, check that all tape has been removed.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Canon 275 and 275XL? They fit the same printers but the 275XL contains approximately twice as much ink as the standard 275, yielding around 400 pages versus 200. This 2-pack contains the XL high-yield versions.
What is the difference between PGI-275XL and CLI-276XL? The PGI-275XL is a black pigment-based ink cartridge. The CLI-276XL is a tri-color cartridge containing cyan, magenta, and yellow dye-based inks. Both are required for full printing functionality — your printer needs both installed even for black-only printing.
Can I use PGI-275XL in a printer that shows PGI-275? Yes. The XL version is a direct drop-in replacement for the standard 275. Your printer will simply recognize more ink is available and update the ink level accordingly.
Will using a remanufactured cartridge void my Canon printer warranty? No. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, Canon cannot void your printer warranty solely because you used a remanufactured or compatible cartridge.
My printer shows low ink right after installing. Is that normal? Some Canon printers may not accurately read the ink level in remanufactured cartridges immediately after installation. This is a display issue only — the cartridge contains a full amount of ink. Print quality will be normal from the first page.
