How to Install HP 962XL Black Ink Cartridge
- Turn on your HP OfficeJet Pro printer and open the ink access door
- Wait for the cartridge carriage to move to the center replacement position
- Press down on the old black cartridge to release it and pull straight out
- Remove the new cartridge from packaging and peel off all orange protective tape completely — including any tape over the nozzle area
- Do not touch the copper contact strip or ink nozzles
- Slide the cartridge firmly into the black slot until it clicks
- Close the access door — the printer will align automatically
- If a "non-HP cartridge" message appears, press OK or Continue to proceed

Does this pack include two black cartridges? Yes. This listing contains two 962XL black (3YL65AN) remanufactured ink cartridges. It does not include color cartridges.

What is the difference between HP 962 and 962XL black? The 962XL yields approximately 2,000 pages; the standard 962 yields approximately 1,000 pages. Both fit the same non-e series OfficeJet Pro printers.
My printer shows "non-HP cartridge" after installation. Is that normal? Yes. HP printers display this alert when a non-OEM cartridge is detected. Press OK or Continue — this message does not affect print quality and will not appear again.
Will using a remanufactured cartridge void my HP printer warranty? No. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, HP cannot void your printer warranty solely because you used a remanufactured or compatible ink cartridge.
